A progeny of great Chinese arts masters.
Sophia Gao - A descendant of famous Qing Dynasty grandmaster - Xu Ye Fen. Trained by grandfather late Xu Zhi-Xiong, a renowned artist. She graduated with distinction from the world class Central Academy of Fine Arts. She worked for many famous Magazines as art editor. Currently living and working in Toronto as a full-time artist. She is represented by galleries in Toronto and Hamilton. Her work is held in numerous private collections in Canada, US and China. Stylish assimilation of Zen and modern techniques, a transcendent beauty of enigmatic expressionism with a tint of traditionalism. Self actualization without illusion. Everything is made possible by observing the nature alone with inspiration from flowers and sea, and transformed it onto a canvas. Sophia's oil painting titled "Qi" had been chosen by the Steinway Master Pianist David Braid as his latest CD/LP <Flow> cover design released in 2016.
